On April 8, 2022 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Igor Nazaruk, met with the First Deputy Chair of the Executive Committee - Executive Secretary of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Leonid Anfimov.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of practical cooperation between Belarus and the CIS Executive Committee, including the agenda of the upcoming meetings of the Council of Heads of Government and the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS in the first half of 2022.
I.Nazaruk confirmed that the Republic of Belarus highly appreciates the Commonwealth as a unique unifying international organization headquartered in Minsk, which allows for an interested dialogue in a wide range of topics, including political, trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation, humanitarian partnership, ensuring integrated regional security.
It was also emphasized the need to intensify the work of the Commonwealth bodies in the current realities on topical issues of the socio-economic development of its Member-States, as well as on conjugation of integration processes within the CIS and the EAEU.
The Belarusian side also thanked the CIS Executive Committee and personally L.Anfimov for active position as part of ensuring the activities of the CIS Observer Mission for monitoring the holding of the nationwide referendum on amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, which took place on February 27, 2022.
