On May 3, 2017 Milan hosted the Belarusian-Italian economic forum “Expanding Opportunities for Cooperation”, dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Italian Republic.

The Belarusian delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Evgeny Shestakov, the Italian delegation was led by the Under-Secretary of the Foreign Affairs of Italy, Benedetto Della Vedova.
The delegation of Belarus also included the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Italy, Aleksandr Guryanov, heads of the National Center for Marketing and Price Study, the National Agency for Investments and Privatization, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, “Belagroprombank”, “The Great Stone”, representatives of FEZ “Brest” and “Grodnoinvest”.

During the plenary session of the event, the Belarusian side presented the potential of our country, the advantages of doing business in Belarus.
Two thematic sessions on banking, investment, industrial, and territorial cooperation were held within the framework of the forum.

In total, more than 140 people attended the event.

On the margins of the forum, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, E.Shestakov, met with the Under-Secretary of the Foreign Affairs of Italy, B.Della Vedova.
The sides discussed the interim results of the implementation of agreements reached during the meeting of the Belarusian-Italian commission on trade and economic cooperation, outlined promising areas of collaboration.
E.Shestakov also met with the President of the Financial Society for Promotion of Economic Relations with Eastern European Countries “Finest S.p.A.” and the President of the Representative Office of the General Confederation of Italian Industry in the Lombardy Region “Confindustria of Lombardy”. The parties considered prospects for development of cooperation in the spheres of mutual interest.
