On December 3, 2022 the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Sergei Aleinik, met with the Chairman of the National Assembly and the Council of State of the Republic of Cuba, Juan Esteban Lazo Hernandez.
The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Evgeny Shestakov, who is the co-chairman of the intergovernmental Belarusian-Cuban joint commission on trade and economic cooperation.
During the event a set of issues of bilateral cooperation in the political, economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian fields was discussed, the parties exchanged views on topical issues on the international agenda.
Particular emphasis was placed on the trade and economic agenda. The results of the implementation of previously reached the bilateral agreements, as well as the Belarusian-Cuban joint projects in various fields and promising areas of cooperation were considered.
The parties condemned the policy of sanctions and unilateral coercive measures by the collective West against our countries.
Mutual interest in giving additional dynamics to the interstate dialogue was confirmed on the widest possible range of issues, including political, trade and economic dimensions.
