On March 29, 2012 Permanent Representative of Belarus Andrei Dapkiunas and Permanent Representative of Niger Boubacar Boureima signed the joint communiqué on establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries in the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Belarus to the UN in New York.
The sides affirmed their commitment to strengthen the existing friendly relations between the two countries, to develop cooperation on the basis of equality and mutual respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity and noninterference in internal affairs of each of the states.
During the discussion heads of diplomatic missions of Belarus and Niger denoted the need to expand mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries and to strengthen cooperation in the international arena, particularly via the expansion of contacts and joint projects between the missions of Belarus and Niger to the United Nations.
