On April 20, 2024 the management and employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, the National Centre for Marketing and Price Study, as well as their family members took part in the annual action "Forest Week 2024" within the framework of the All-Republican Saturday clean-up day.
Belarusian diplomats planted more than 10 thousand saplings of pine and spruce trees with open and closed root systems on a 1.6 hectare plot of forest in Smolevichy forestry.
"This is a good tradition, which the Foreign Ministry supports with pleasure every year. Today, many of our counter-partners forget that diplomacy should be aimed at creation and unity. To some extent, we are also planting sprouts not of trees, but of peace, mutual understanding and dialogue. Therefore, it is our direct duty and responsibility to leave a "green footprint" and make our contribution to the preservation of environmental sustainability and natural diversity of our native Belarus," the Minister stressed.
Today's work was dedicated to the memory of the Minister, Vladimir Makei, who started this good tradition of the Ministry.
