Telephone conversation between the foreign ministers of Belarus and Venezuela

On May 21, 2025, at the initiative of the Venezuelan side, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Maxim Ryzhenkov, had a telephone conversation with the Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Yván Gil Pinto.

During the conversation, the parties reaffirmed the friendly and open nature of the Belarusian-Venezuelan interstate dialogue. The head of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry conveyed his congratulations on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The interlocutors exchanged views on topical issues on the international agenda, as well as discussed key aspects of bilateral interaction. An agreement was reached to use more actively such instruments as the joint commission on trade and economic cooperation and political consultations.

The foreign ministers positively assessed the interaction between Belarus and Venezuela in international organisations, putting special emphasis on the work within the Group of Friends in Defence of the Charter of the United Nations. The parties agreed on the need to expand this association.
