On May 6, 2022 the Permanent Representative of Belarus to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva, Larysa Belskaya, held a meeting with the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet.

The sides discussed issues of current and future cooperation on human rights, including in the context of the decisions taken at the UN Human Rights Council.
The Permanent Representative of Belarus expressed her concern that the Office’s independent approach towards Belarus is becoming less visible against the background of the increasing involvement of OHCHR in the confrontational initiatives of the Western States.
The Belarusian diplomat expressed hope for the resumption of constructive cooperation between OHCHR and Belarus.
The sides reaffirmed their readiness for further dialogue.
