On January 21, 2016 the Protocol of talks on ensuring safe conditions of stay of under-aged citizens of the Republic of Belarus in the Italian Republic during health improvement programs, as well as relevant detailed Recommendations to it, were signed in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Italy.  Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Italian Republic, Evgeny Shestakov, and the acting Director General for the Immigration and the Integration Policies of the Italian Ministry of Labour and Social Security, Raffaele Tangorra, affixed their signatures to the documents.

Above agreements were worked out in close cooperation of the competent authorities of Belarus and Italy, in particular, Department of the Humanitarian Activity of the Presidential Property Management Directorate of the Republic of Belarus and departments of Ministry of Trade and Social Policy of Italy.

Due to the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power station, during many years the Italian Republic continues to be the leader among other states by the number of received under-aged Belarusians for health improvement programs. Hence, the signed documents determine the complex of additional measures aimed at ensuring the secure conditions of stay of Belarusian children in the places of health improvement in Italy.

The Protocol and the Recommendations come into force upon signature.
