Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus M.Barysevich visits Qatar

On September 21, 2021, the regular round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs was held in Doha. The event was co-chaired by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Mikalai Barysevich and Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar Ahmad Hassan Al Hammadi.

During the consultations, a wide range of topics of Belarusian-Qatari relations were discussed, including cooperation in the political, humanitarian, sports, aviation spheres, as well as the legal framework improvement, interaction between parliaments and within international organizations.

A special attention was given to enhancement of investment and trade and economic relations as a priority area of cooperation between the two countries. The Sides also exchanged views on regional issues.

On September 20-21, 2021, Deputy Minister M.Barysevich and Chairman of the Board of the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Egorov met with the leadership of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of Qatar, Qatar Investment Authority and Qatar Development Bank.

During the negotiations, promising areas of credit and investment cooperation of mutual interest were discussed. In the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Qatar the Sides agreed on terms of the next meeting of the intergovernmental Joint Committee, as well as the Belarusian-Qatar Business Council, in Minsk.
