​Minsk hosts Belarusian-Azerbaijani inter-ministerial consultations

On 28 August 2026, consultations took place in Minsk between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Belarusian delegation was led by Deputy Minister Pavel Utyupin, whilst the Azerbaijani delegation was led by the Deputy Minister Samir Sharifov.

During the consultations, the participants discussed the current state and prospects for the development of Belarusian-Azerbaijani political dialogue, trade and economic cooperation, and humanitarian interaction. Particular attention was paid to the progress made in implementing the agreements reached at the highest and high levels, as well as to coordinating the schedule for forthcoming bilateral contacts.

The parties reaffirmed their readiness to continue constructive cooperation and mutual support within the framework of global and regional international organisations.

The delegations welcomed the current state of the legal framework for bilateral cooperation and agreed on its further qualitative development.

Following the consultations, the sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening mutual trust and deepening the strategic partnership between Belarus and Azerbaijan was reaffirmed.
