Belarus participates in the 78th session of the Executive Council of the OPCW
18 March 2015Belarusian delegation is taking part in the 78th session of the Executive Council of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.
On 17 March Permanent Representative of the Republic of Belarus to the OPCW Mikalai Barysevich outlined the position of the Belarusian side related to the agenda items of the meeting, including on the Syrian dossier.
The Belarusian delegation has once again confirmed a strong national position that chemical weapons should not be used by anyone, anywhere and under any conditions.
In view of the commemoration of the first large-scale use of chemical weapons in World War I, special attention was drawn to the need to strengthen all areas of activity of the OPCW to achieve the objectives of the Convention, including information, education and outreach.
