Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus E.Shestakov pays a working visit to Venezuela

On 27–28 May 2026, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Evgeny Shestakov, paid a working visit to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

During a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, Yvan Eduardo Gil Pinto, the parties discussed issues of political cooperation and exchanged views on key aspects of the international and regional agenda.

As part of the fourth round of inter-ministerial consultations with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, Yuri Alexander Pimentel Moura, the sides discussed the state and prospects of bilateral relations, including issues relating to the development of the legal framework and cooperation in the trade, economic and humanitarian spheres. 

The participants in the consultations reaffirmed the unchanged nature of the main areas of cooperation and agreed on the dates of the next meeting of the Belarusian-Venezuelan Joint Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation.

During talks with the Sectoral Vice-President for Planning – Minister for Planning of Venezuela, Co-Chairman of the Belarusian-Venezuelan Joint Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation, Ricardo Jose Menendez Prieto, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of strategic importance for cooperation between the two countries, as well as promising areas for interaction in the industrial sector. 

During the meetings, the Venezuelan side confirmed its readiness to implement all previously reached agreements and expressed its firm intention to deepen business cooperation and develop trade and economic relations with Belarus.
