Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus M.Ryzhenkov participates in meetings in China

On August 30, 2025, as part of the visit of the President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, to the People's Republic of China, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maxim Ryzhenkov, continued his intensive programme in Tianjin.

The delegation visited the production and demonstration sites of one of China's leading energy companies, TBEA Company Limited, and familiarised itself with the work of the transformer manufacturing plant in the TBEA Intelligent Technology Industrial Park in the Beijing – Tianjin – Hebei region and with the science and technology exhibition organised at the company's headquarters in Tianjin. 

The head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry held substantive negotiations with the company's Chairman of the Board, Zhang Xin, during which the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the energy, industrial and infrastructure sectors.

An important component of the meeting was the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement at the TBEA headquarters' international conference centre.

Members of the delegation took part in a ceremony to plant a tree of friendship, symbolising the unwavering commitment of Belarus and China to strengthening the traditions of mutual respect and cooperation.

During his stay in Tianjin, the Minister also visited Tianjin Foreign Studies University and held a meeting with its administration, in particular with Party Committee Secretary Zhou Honglei and President Li Yingying.

The parties discussed issues of deepening cooperation in the field of humanitarian and educational youth exchanges and internships. 

Particular attention was paid to intensifying cooperation in the field of translation. M.Ryzhenkov noted that literature is the basis of spiritual closeness between peoples, and we should join forces to translate works into the languages of our countries.

The parties separately emphasised their interest in continuing work on the translation into Belarusian of Chinese President Xi Jinping's book on public administration and other important works reflecting China's diplomatic ideas.

The Minister laid flowers at the monument to the national poet of Belarus, Yakub Kolas, as a sign of attention to the development of cultural ties and the preservation of common historical memory.

The visit to the Centre for Belarusian Studies at Tianjin Foreign Studies University, where a meeting with students and teachers of the Belarusian language took place, was of great importance. During the event, Director Olga Shakhab presented the achievements of the Centre. Students studying Belarusian prepared a creative programme performing poems and songs by Belarusian authors.
