Belarus-EU Investment Forum began its’ work in Vienna

On May 24, 2016 Investment Forum of the European Union and Belarus “Vienna Forum: to promote EU investment in Belarus” began its’ work in Vienna.



Official Belarusian delegation headed by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Vasily Matyushevsky, participates in the Forum. The delegation consists of the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Alexander Mikhnevich, representatives of the National Bank, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Architecture, the National Agency of Investment and Privatization, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce, as well as of the representatives of business circles of the Republic of Belarus.

During the Forum, the investment climate and potential of the Republic of Belarus, its’ free economic zones, industrial park “Great Stone”, High-Tech Park and small towns will be presented. In the course of the Forum, Belarusian and European officials and companies will held direct negotiations. Representatives of more than 90 companies from the European Union and more than 30 enterprises and companies from the Republic of Belarus are taking part in the Forum.



For the purposes of the expansion of bilateral and multilateral economic cooperation with the EU countries, the Head of the Belarusian delegation will meet with the President of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, Christoph Leitl, the Executive Staff of major Austrian concerns, as well as with the representatives of the European Commission and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. During the meetings, the sides will discuss the implementation
of a number of investment projects in the Republic of Belarus.
