Collegium of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reviews the results of the activity of the diplomatic service in 2024

On March 11, 2025 an enlarged meeting of the Collegium of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was held, during which the results of the activity of the Foreign Ministry in 2024 were reviewed.

The Collegium was attended by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Nikolay Snopkov, the First Deputy Head of the Administration of the President, Natalya Petkevich, the leadership of a number of republican government bodies, government organisations, regional executive committees and the Minsk City Executive Committee.

In his report, Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov summed up the activity of the diplomatic service of Belarus in 2024, with an emphasis on implementing the tasks set by the Head of State in the foreign policy and foreign economic spheres, and noted priority areas for improving the effectiveness of joint activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, foreign missions, line ministries and concerns in terms of export in 2025.

The Ambassadors of Belarus to Russia and China reported on specific tasks for increasing and diversifying exports.

Special attention was paid to the development of trade and economic cooperation with countries of Africa and other countries of the "far arc", the creation of our own export promotion infrastructure abroad, and the improvement of financial and non-financial export support mechanisms.

Following the Сollegium meeting, the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Nikolay Snopkov set the task of improving systematic approaches to promoting Belarusian exports, taking into account current realities.

"Achieving quantitative parameters should be accompanied by their qualitative assessment in order to build medium- and long-term work strategies in countries and regions", – Nikolay Snopkov emphasised.

The First Deputy Head of the Administration of the President, Natalya Petkevich, focused on strengthening the forecast and analytical component in the activity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, improving the staff recruitment and placement system.
