Ambassador of Belarus Y.Yarashevich presents copies of his Credentials to the Chief of the State Protocol of Israel

On February 13, 2025 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the State of Israel, Yury Yarashevich, presented copies of his Credentials to the Chief of the State Protocol of Israel, Gil Haskel.

Both sides noted the unique and historically established ties between the Belarusian and Jewish peoples. They emphasized that the deep intertwining of their historical and cultural relations forms a strong foundation for the continued development of bilateral cooperation.

As a gesture of respect for common historical heritage, Y.Yarashevich presented G.Haskel with a commemorative postal project marking the 150th Anniversary of Chaim Weizmann, a distinguished native of Belarus and the first President of Israel. This milestone was jointly celebrated by both countries in November 2024.

The meeting also included a substantive exchange of views on the current situation in the regions. Both sides expressed hope for the prompt resolution of ongoing conflicts, the attainment of peace, and the restoration of stability.

Special attention was given to preparations for the upcoming 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The sides emphasized the importance of preserving historical memory and ensuring that the truth about the events of that era is passed on to future generations.
