Comment by the Press Service of the Foreign Ministry in connection with the damage to the UAE Embassy compound in Khartoum

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus has taken with great concern the information about damage to the building of the UAE Embassy in Khartoum, the capital of the Sudan.
The Republic of Belarus emphasises its unwavering position on the inviolability of the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and the unacceptability of any attacks against diplomatic missions and their staff.
The Belarusian people have been and remain friendly to the people of the Sudan and cannot remain indifferent to the ongoing bloodshed in that country.
We call on the parties to the conflict in the Sudan to put an end to the hostilities, which have already caused so much suffering to many millions of Sudanese, and to achieve a peaceful settlement and the restoration of the rule of law, including on the basis of the outcome of the negotiation process in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
