Ambassador of Belarus Y.Yaroshevich meets with the Chairman of Directorate of Holocaust Memorial Complex “Yad Vashem”

On June 9, 2025 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the State of Israel Yury Yaroshevich met with the Chairman of Directorate of Holocaust Memorial Complex “Yad Vashem” Daniel Dayan.

During the meeting, the common destinies of the Belarusian and Jewish peoples during World War II were emphasized. Particular attention was paid to the fact that about 700 Belarusians were included among the Righteous Among the Nations – those who, risking their own lives and the safety of their families, saved Jews from the Nazis.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus also noted that the Belarusian side pays special attention to preserving the heroic heritage of the two peoples. This is evidenced by the work carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus on the clean-up day of the historical and tourist site in the Nalibokskaya Pushcha, dedicated to the partisan movement of Belarus, especially the detachments of the Bielski brothers and Zorin.

D.Dayan expressed his readiness to continue and enhance cooperation with the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War History and other archival institutions.
