Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus M.Ryzhenkov takes part in the Plenary Session of the XVII BRICS Summit

On July 6-7, 2025 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Maxim Ryzhenkov, takes part in the Plenary Session of the XVIII BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Federative Republic of Brazil.

During the event, the head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry held negotiations with the heads of a number of foreign delegations.

Practical steps to implement the agreements reached during his official visit to the Republic of Belarus on 25-27 June 2025 were discussed with the President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.

With the President of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, measures were outlined for the implementation of the next stage of the country's agricultural mechanisation project with the participation of Belarus, including the creation of regional service centres and, in the future, assembly production. During the meeting, the Nigerian leader highly praised the quality and reliability of the Belarusian machinery supplied.

With the Deputy Prime Minister – the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Murat Nurtileu, the parties compared notes on the whole range of topical issues of bilateral cooperation and outlined joint efforts for its further development.

The agenda for the upcoming visit of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry senior staff to Thailand was discussed with the Minister Attached to the Prime Minister's Office of Thailand, Jiraporn Sindhuprai. It includes visa facilitation, establishment of direct flights and other measures to make it easier for Belarusians to visit Thailand.

The Chair of the New Development Bank, Dilma Rousseff, was invited to visit the Republic of Belarus to discuss a roadmap for cooperation between our country and the Bank, including the prospects for our country's membership in this BRICS structure.

During his visit to Brazil, Maxim Ryzhenkov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye, Hakan Fidan.

During the conversation, the parties held a thorough exchange of views on topical issues on the international agenda and the state of bilateral cooperation in the political and trade and economic spheres. Particular attention was paid to the settlement of the Ukrainian-Russian conflict.

In order to work out priority tasks for expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation with Brazil, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus held a meeting with the leadership of the Brazilian National Confederation of Industry and the Federation of Industry of the State of Rio de Janeiro.

The parties discussed forms of cooperation between Belarusian and Brazilian organisations to promote mutual trade and investment, as well as specific areas of business cooperation in the industrial, agricultural and scientific-practical spheres.
