On December 5, 2018 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Andrei Dapkiunas, participated in the opening ceremony of the 16th International Trade Fair “Vietnam EXPO” (Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam, December 5-8, 2018) as the head of the delegation as an exclusive guest of honour of the exhibition.
In his statement the Deputy Minister pointed out that the guest of honour status of the Belarusian National Exhibition is determined by the high level of bilateral cooperation and mutual understanding. A.Dapkiunas also stressed that Vietnam is the top priority partner of the Republic of Belarus in South-East Asia.
For reference: More than 50 companies participate in the Belarusian National Exhibition. The exhibition occupies 325 sq.m. The companies represent knowledge-intensive and complex technical products, as well as agricultural products and foodstuffs of the Republic of Belarus.
A.Dapkiunas demostrated to the Vietnamese partners Belarusian innovative products and technical achievements.
On the same day the Deputy Foreign Minister met the senior executives of leading Vietnamese companies, who graduated from the Belarusian universities. The sides reached an agreement on joint efforts to increase bilateral cooperation in education, science, tourism, investments and trade.
During the meeting with the General Director of “Mekong Machinery”, Tran Minh Tri, A.Dapkiunas noted the importance of the development of the optimal and most effective scheme of selling the Belarusian agricultural machinery in Southeast Asia and stressed the great potential of the new model of small-sized tractor with high build quality and reliability.
The Deputy Minister also met the Deputy Chairman of Ho Chi Minh People’s Committee, Le Thanh Liem. The sides discussed the prospects of supplying Belarusian trucks and buses to Ho Chi Minh city and possible input of the leading Belarusian companies to the development of the city’s transport infrastructure.
