On July 11, 2017 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Oleg Kravchenko, participated in the informal OSCE Ministerial Meeting in Mauerbach, Austria, upon the initiative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs of Austria, Sebastian Kurz.
In his statement in the framework of the plenary session, the Head of the Belarusian delegation drew attention to the initiative of the President of the Republic of Belarus to launch a new Helsinki process, a broad dialogue in order to overcome the existing contradictions in relations between the states in the Euro-Atlantic and Eurasia, build bridges and genuine security community.
O.Kravchenko also participated in the round table discussion on the structured dialogue on current and emerging security challenges and risks in the OSCE area, and presented Belarus' approaches to further steps that should be taken in this process.
As part of the event, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus held bilateral meetings with the Head of the delegation of the United States, acting Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia, as well as with the Head of the Estonian delegation. The sides discussed current state and prospects for development of cooperation.
