On December 29, 2020 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Sergei Aleinik, and the Head of the Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in the Republic of Belarus, Djordje Drndarski, signed the Plan of joint events of state and other organizations of the Republic of Belarus and the International Committee of the Red Cross for 2021.
The Plan provides for events to support initiatives in the fields of education, humanitarian activities, implementation of international humanitarian law, as well as the promotion of ideas and concepts of mutual interest in universal and regional organizations.
Background information. ICRC is an international humanitarian organization that was founded in 1863 in Switzerland. The organization is based on the principles of neutrality and impartiality, provides protection and assistance to victims of armed conflicts. ICRC is an integral part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
