On July 10, 2017 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Makei, and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Johanna Brandt, participated in the official opening ceremony of the Office of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Minsk.
In his statement, the Belarusian Foreign Minister noted the importance of this important event, which opens a new page in the Belarusian-Dutch relations.
The current year is a jubilee for diplomatic relations between the two countries, which allows us to look back at the path and the accumulated asset in many spheres of cooperation.
The Belarusian Foreign Minister stressed that the opening of the Office of the Embassy of the Netherlands in the Belarusian capital is a clear confirmation of the intention of our states to develop full-fledged relations, expand and deepen interstate cooperation in all spheres.
On the same day, V.Makei held a working meeting with J.Brandt, during which the sides discussed the Belarusian-Dutch cooperation in the political, trade, economic and other spheres, as well as the issues on the regional agenda. The parties exchanged views on cooperation in the humanitarian sphere. The Head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry expressed gratitude to the Netherlands for its’ significant humanitarian assistance to our country in overcoming the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster.
