Belarus-Uzbekistan

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Uzbekistan were established on 21 January 1993. The Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Uzbekistan was opened in February 1994. The Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Belarus started its work in March 2018. 

In 2017, trade turnover with Uzbekistan amounted to 130.9 million dollars, including exports — 96.1 million dollars.

In January — November 2018, the volume of trade turnover between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Uzbekistan amounted to 145.2 million dollars, including the exports of goods -106.3 million dollars.

Belarus exports to Uzbekistan mainly tractors, chassis, bulks, parts and accessories for tractors, sugar, timber, road engineering and building machinery, poultry meat, chipboard, gas stoves, trucks, pharmaceutical products, special-purpose vehicles.

The main import items from Uzbekistan are cotton yarn, fresh and dried grapes, dried fruits, nuts, textile products, textile fabrics, fruit and vegetable juices, copper pipes.

In August 2018 in Tashkent it was held a VI regular meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Bilateral Cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The official visit of the President of the Republic of Belarus A.G. Lukashenko to the Republic of Uzbekistan took place in September 2018.

19 bilateral agreements  between Belarus and Uzbekistan on cooperation in different spheres were signed during this event. 

Since 2017, two assembly plants of Belarusian machinery with the participation of Belarusian capital — JV LLC “AMKODOR-AGROTEXMASH” and JV LLC “UzBelAgromash” function on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan. New shoe-production enterprise was established by Belarusian holding “Marko” in 2018. 

In September 2018 the President of Belarus with the President of Uzbekistan held a ribbon-cutting ceremony of officially start of machinery plant in Tashkent
