Belarus-Moldova

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Moldova were established on November 19, 1992. Since then, over 70 treaties and agreements regulating legal relations have been concluded between the states.

In July 2017, the President of Moldova visited Belarus with a working visit and took part in the opening ceremony of the International Art Festival “Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk”. In April 2018, an official visit of the President of the Republic of Belarus to Moldova took place. The heads of state also held bilateral meetings within the framework of the CIS and EAEU activities.

In October 2018, a working visit to the Republic of Belarus of a Moldovan government delegation led by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova took place.

For Moldova, Belarus is one of the main partners in the procurement of wine and agricultural products. The Moldovan market is traditional for the supply of Belarusian agricultural, automotive and municipal vehicles, elevator equipment, pharmaceutical products, etc.

Since 2009, OJSC MTZ, together with the Moldovan company Agrofermotech, has been implementing an assembly project in Moldova of garden and vineyard modification of a tractor on the basis of the Belarus-921 tractor set of the Smorgon Auto-Unit Plant.

In 2012, OJSC Belkommunmash Holding Management Company began assembling trolleybuses in the city of Chisinau. Since 2016, in the capital of Moldova, the assembly of wireless trolleybuses on autonomous operation is also being carried out.

In 2017, the trade turnover between Belarus and Moldova amounted to $ 220.7 million, incl. export of goods — 133.4 million dollars. In January — November 2018, the trade turnover between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Moldova amounted to $ 205.4 million, including exports — $ 137.1 million.

Oil products, sugar, tractors, and timber are exported from Belarus to Moldova; wines, alcohol drinks, corn, fruits are imported.
