Belarus-Azerbaijan

Belarus and Azerbaijan increased interaction in all spheres of mutual interest.

Diplomatic relations between the countries were established on June 11, 1993. Since 2006 9 official visits at the highest level, 3 visits of the Prime Minister of Belarus to Azerbaijan, 11 meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation have taken place.

In 2017 Belarus trade turnover with Azerbaijan amounted to 160.7 million dollars, export totaled 150.5 million dollars.

In January-November 2018 the trade turnover with Azerbaijan totaled 425.0 million dollars, Belarusian export was 411.4 million dollars.

Refined products, tractors and truck tractors, railway cars (self-propelled and non-self-propelled), longitudinally sawn timber, butter, machines and mechanisms for harvesting and threshing crops, plywood, medicines were the main export goods to Azerbaijan.

From Azerbaijan Belarus imports polymers of ethylene, cotton fiber, acyclic hydrocarbons, transformers, petroleum products and others.

Since 2007 a number of joint projects in the field of industrial cooperation have been launched including assembly lines of Belarusian tractors and trucks. The leader of the Belarusian-Azerbaijani cooperation in the sphere of industrial cooperation is Ganja automobile plant.

The distribution network of Belarusian producers on Azerbaijani market is composed of 5 business entities and 45 dealers, representing the interests of more than 50 Belarusian exporters.
