Statement by the Press-Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus in connection with the acts of terrorism at the Egyptian resorts, and the bomb attack against the Indonesian Embassy in Paris on October, 8 2004.
It was with great concern that the Republic of Belarus heard the news of the series of terrorist acts at a number of Egyptian resorts (Taba, Ras Al Shitan and Nuweiba) that caused human deaths and multiple wounds among foreign tourists, as well as of the bomb attack against Indonesian Embassy in Paris. We express our most sincere condolences to the relatives and intimates of the killed persons and express our sympathy to all who were injured.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus decisively condemns this yet another terrorist raid. Noting the significant preoccupation with the increase of terrorist activity, we declare our full support to multilateral efforts aimed at combating any manifestation of terrorism.
The Republic of Belarus believes that international terrorism is one of the most serious threats of today, and maintains its firm, uncompromising stand towards the necessity of complete eradication of this phenomenon.
