Belarus’ MFA Press Secretary Andrei Popov Comments on the Statements by the US Department of State and the European Union Ambassadors with Regard to the Conviction of Alexander Kozulin
The Belarusian side notes once again with surprise and regret the attempts of the United States and the European Union to interfere in the judicial proceedings in Belarus and try to exert influence from outside upon the decisions taken by the judges, while ignoring the principle of their independence.
We would like to stress once again that the judicial authorities of the Republic of Belarus in taking any decisions are guided exclusively by provisions of the national legislation in accordance with the rule of law principle.
