Joint statement of the Governments of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation

Acting in the spirit of the common policy approach coordinated by the Heads of States of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation, and taking into consideration the repeated statements from the USA and the European Union on the possibility of imposing economic restrictions towards one of the member states of the Customs Union/Common Economic Space the Governments of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation reaffirm their position that the use of economic pressure or coercion is unacceptable.

Such measures create artificial trade barriers and unjustified obstacles for economic relations between business entities on the territory of the Customs Union/Common Economic Space, and infringe on legitimate interests of economic security of the states, which could damage productive mutually advantageous cooperation and the development of integration on the Eurasian continent. This would have negative consequences for ordinary citizens, first of all.

The Governments of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation are firmly convinced that only equal and respectful dialogue will help to resolve international disputes, and call to renounce any action that would obstruct such dialogue.
