Belarusian Delegation visits Canberra, Australia

On May 2-3, 2016 the Director of the Department for Foreign Economic Activity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Roman Sobolev, and the Head of the Department of Asia, Australia and Oceania, Andrei Grinkevich, paid a visit to Canberra (Australia).

In the course of the visit, meetings with the leadership Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia, Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Australian Trade Commission (Austrade), Australian Chamber of Trade and Industry, National Farmer’s Federation of Australia and the Minerals Council were held.

During the meetings, the Australian side was presented with information on export potential and investment climate in the Republic of Belarus. The parties discussed the possibilities of expansion of the bilateral trade and economic cooperation, including the participation of our country in infrastructural projects in Australia.  A special attention was paid to the process regarding accession of Belarus to the WTO.

In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade the negotiations on the issues of the political agenda of the bilateral relations were held. The sides discussed prospects for further contacts at different levels.
