Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus V.Makei meets the Ambassador of Syria

On January 9, 2019 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Makei, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Syrian Arab Republic to the Republic of Belarus, Bassam Abdul Majid, on the occasion of the completion of his diplomatic mission to our country.

V.Makei expressed gratitude to the Ambassador of Syria for his active and fruitful work during the past five years, aimed at strengthening of  the Belarusian-Syrian cooperation.

During the meeting, the Minister confirmed the firm position of Belarus to support the independence and territorial integrity of Syria and the willingness to assist the restoration of Syrian economy.

The sides agreed on further development of the political dialogue and discussed current issues of bilateral relations in trade, economic and humanitarian spheres.
