Delegation of Belarus participates in the 14th session of UNCTAD

On July 17-22, 2016 the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus took part in the 14th session of the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), held in Nairobi, Kenya.

The 14th session of the Conference set out the mandate and priorities for the future work of UNCTAD in the areas of trade and development, as well as interrelated issues of investment, technology and finance by taking into account the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the international community. The representative of Belarus was elected Vice-Chairman of the Conference.

On July 20 Belarusian delegation presented the position of Belarus on the priorities in the work of UNCTAD, including strengthening of regional integrational cooperation with the view to promote sustainable development and economic growth, giving due account to the interests of middle-income countries, assistance in the WTO accession.
