Seoul hosts Belarusian Economic and Investment Forum

On May 15, 2017 Seoul, Republic of Korea hosted the Belarusian Economic and Investment Forum that coincides with the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Belarus and the Republic of Korea.

The event was organized by the Embassy of Belarus in Korea and the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the assistance of the National Agency for Investments and Privatization of Belarus, the Korean Association of Importers, the law firm DR&AJU, the Korean Association of Contractors, etc.

The Belarusian delegation consisted of representatives of the Government of the Republic of Belarus, Ministries of Economy, Finance, Industry, Belneftekhim concern, the National Academy of Sciences, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the State Agency for Investments and Privatization, the State Administration of the High Technologies Park, industrial and petrochemical enterprises.

From the Korean side, representatives of state bodies and organizations, as well as companies working in the fields of information technology, electronics, construction, pharmaceuticals, and the automotive industry took part in the forum.

Within the framework of the sessions of the forum, the economic potential of our country, the advantages of cooperation with Belarus, as well as a number of promising investment projects were presented.

A number of agreements aimed at further development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation were also signed.

On the margins of the forum, the Belarusian delegation met with the representatives of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, as well as a number of leading Korean corporations and business associations. The parties considered prospects for development of cooperation in the spheres of mutual interest.
