Consultations between Foreign Ministries of Belarus and Romania

On December 15 – 16, 2014 Bucharest hosted Belarusian-Romanian consultations between Ministries of Foreign Affairs to examine legal base for bilateral cooperation.

The Belarusian delegation was led by the Head of the Main Legal and Treaties Directorate of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Andrei Popkov, the Romanian delegation was headed by the General Director of the Legal Department of the Romanian Foreign Ministry Ion Gilea. 

The parties completed examination of the list and status of interstate, intergovernmental and interdepartmental international treaties that are related to Belarus and Romania, exchanged views on the progress made on drafting of international treaties which are under consideration of the sides.

During the consultation, the sides also discussed prospects and development of the legal framework of Belarusian-Romanian cooperation, shared experience in the conclusion and implementation of international treaties and documents, as well as considered other issues of international law that are of common interest to the parties within the UN and other international organizations.
