Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus E.Shestakov visits Nicaragua

On January 9-11, 2017 Belarusian delegation headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Evgeny Shestakov, paid a working visit to the Republic of Nicaragua.

During the visit, E.Shestakov met with the Special Advisor to the President of Nicaragua for Investments, Laureano Ortega, the Minister of Development, Industry and Trade, Orlando Solorzano, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Eastern Europe and Asia, Luis Molina Cuadra, and the National Director of the National Disaster Prevention Agency, Guillermo Gonzalez.

During the meeting, the sides discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation in trade, economic and other spheres, as well as the collaboration in mitigation of natural disasters. Special attention was paid to the facilitation in 2017 of the exchange of visits of official delegations and representatives of business cirles, further expansion of the legal framework of bilateral relations.

During the meeting in the company “Autos Alemanes” that is specialized in the promotion of Belarusian tractors, buses and other technical products, the sides discussed prospects for securing markets of Nicaragua and neighboring countries of the Central American region for products of Belarusian leading manufacturers.

On January 10, Belarusian delegation took part in the ceremony of inauguration of the President of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega. During the ceremony, E.Shestakov held a bried meeting with the Head of Nicaraguan state. The sides discussed current state and prospects for development of bilateral relations.
