Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Russia on consular issues

On May 23, 2017 Moscow hosted another round of consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Russia on consular issues.
The Belarusian delegation was headed by the Head of Main Consular Department, Igor Fisenko, the Russian delegation was led by the Director of the Consular Department, Evgeni Ivanov.
The parties discussed issues of the protection of rights and legitimate interests of the nationals of both states, including in the territories of third countries, the application of the Convention on legal assistance and legal relations in civil, family and criminal affaires of January 22, 1993. Special attention was paid to the activities of the consular services of the two countries, as well as to the interaction of Belarusian and Russian diplomatic and consular missions with competent authorities of the host states.
