Consultations between the MFA of Belarus and Slovakia on consular issues

On June 23, 2016 Bratislava (Slovakia) hosted consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Slovakia on consular issues.

The Belarusian delegation was headed by the Head of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Igor Fisenko, Slovak delegation was led by the Director of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Igor Pokojny.

Representatives of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic and the leadership of Bureau of Border and Alien Police also participated in the Belarusian-Slovak consular consultations.

During the consultations, the sides discussed the visa policy priorities of the two countries and the implementation of legislation regarding consular activities. The parties shared experiences concerning the response to the existing migration challenges, as well as exchanged information regarding the negotiations on the liberalization of visa regime between Belarus and the European Union.
