Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and the UAE

On May 10, 2017 Minsk hosted third round of consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates on consular issues.

The Belarusian delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Evgeny Shestakov, the UAE delegation was led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mohammed Al Raisi.

During the consultations, the parties considered a wide number of issues on the bilateral agenda, as well as further development of cooperation of consular authorities of the two countries.

Following the results of the consultations, the sides signed the Protocol amending the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the United Arab Emirates on Mutual Exemption of Visas for Holders of Diplomatic Passports, on 25 April 2013 and the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates on the Establishment of a Joint Consular Committee.

The head of the delegation of the UAE was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Vladimir Makei.

The sides discussed current state and prospect for development of bilateral cooperation, intensification of collaboration in trade and economy.
