Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Vladimir Makei meets Ambassador of Israel

On August 27, 2015 Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Vladimir Makei met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to the Republic of Belarus Yosef Shagal on the occasion of completion of his diplomatic mission.

The parties exchanged views on a wide range of issues of the Belarusian-Israeli cooperation. Minister Vladimir Makei thanked Ambassador for his significant personal contribution to the development of bilateral relations, strengthening of trade and economic ties and in particular credit and investment cooperation, as well as promotion of the solution of mutual visa exemption for holders of national passports of the two countries.

During the meeting Yosef Shagal transmitted a verbal note concerning the completion by the Israeli side of all the procedures necessary for the entry into force of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the State of Israel on visa exemption for holders of national passports signed on September 19, 2014 in Minsk.

The Belarusian side informed the Israeli side on the completion of internal procedures in January 2015.

In accordance with Article 7 of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the State of Israel on visa exemption for holders of national passports, the document shall enter into force 90 days after the date of receiving through diplomatic channels of the latest written notification, by which the parties notify each other of the completion of all internal procedures necessary for the entry into force of the present Agreement.

Thus, the Agreement shall enter into force on November 26, 2015.
