Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus V.Rybakov meets the UN Under-Secretary-General

On May 23, 2017 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Valentin Rybakov, met with the UN Under-Secretary-General for UN General Assembly Affairs and Conference Management, Catherine Pollard.
During the meeting, the sides discussed further interaction between the UN Secretariat and the Missions of the UN member states through the working group on revitalisation of the UN General Assembly. V.Rybakov highly appreciated the personal role of C.Pollard in coordinating the work of the UN Secretariat on this issue.
The Belarusian diplomat thanked the UN Under-Secretary-General for her assistance in promoting the Belarus-Azerbaijan initiative to honor the role of professional translation and language professionals in the UN system, and invited C.Pollard to attend the General Assembly meeting on May 24 at which the relevant resolution on professional translation will be adopted.
