Ambassador of Belarus M.Dolgopolova meets the President of Latvia

On October 2, 2018 the President of the Republic of Latvia, Raimonds Vējoņis, received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Latvia, Marina Dolgopolova, on the occasion of completion of the diplomatic mission.

Issues of Belarusian-Latvian cooperation were on the agenda. Positive dynamics on key directions of the bilateral relations at political, interministerial and regional level was noted.

A positive assessmemt was given to the intensified contacts between the Heads of Government, which allowed to approve the medium-term cooperation plan at the governmental level, as well as to the systemic cooperation between the Parliaments of both countries. 

A special emphasis was put on the constructive cooperation of Belarusian and Latvian law enforcement agencies, border control, customs, emergency bodies and defence institutions, which is important for raising the level of trust and ensuring security in the region.
