Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus V.Makei meets the PACE Rapporteur

On July 6, 2017 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Makei, received the Rapporteur on Belarus of the Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Andrea Rigoni, who is visiting Belarus to participate in the 26th Annual Session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
The parties discussed current state and prospects for development of relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
In particular, V.Makei negatively characterized some provisions of the recently adopted PACE report “The situation in Belarus”. At the same time, Foreign Minister positively assessed the possibility of expanding contacts between the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe that is reflected in the above document.
