Permanent Representative of Belarus A.Kupchyna presents Credentials to the Heads of UNIDO and Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization

On January 16, 2017 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Austrian Republic, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Belarus to the International Organizations in Vienna, Alena Kupchyna, presented her Credentials to the Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Li Yong, and the Executive Secretary of the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization, Lassina Zerbo.

During the meeting with the Director General of UNIDO, the sides discussed issues of the implementation by UNIDO of technical cooperation projects in Belarus, as well as prospects for further cooperation on the topic of the middle-income countries.

In the course of the meeting with the CTBTO Executive Secretary, A.Kupchyna noted that Belarus consistently supports the promotion of entry into force and universalization of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty. Permanent Representative of Belarus stressed the importance of maintaining and strengthening the international nuclear non-proliferation regime based on NPT, as well as creating favorable conditions for practical nuclear disarmament steps.
