During the meeting, A.Kupchyna spoke in favor of strengthening the Organization's activities in the economic and environmental sphere.

The Permanent Representative of Belarus stressed that the economic and environmental dimension is an integral part of the OSCE's comprehensive security concept. This dimension can and must make a significant contribution to the rapprochement of nations, overcoming fragmentation and “building bridges”, forming a positive agenda of the Organization in order to restore the atmosphere of trust and dialogue.

A.Kupchyna stressed the need to strengthen the so called “second basket” of the OSCE, increasing its’ recognition among other dimensions.

The Permanent Representative of Belarus emphasized the importance of the decision to promote connectivity taken by the OSCE Ministerial Council in Hamburg in December 2016. To this end, A.Kupchyna advocated for pursuing efforts to create a more transparent and predictable environment for trade exchanges, expand cross-border contacts and regional cooperation, develop transport corridors and connectivity within the OSCE area.

A.Kupchyna also noted that the problem of connectivity plays an important role in the program of the Belarusian Presidency of the Central European Initiative in 2017.
