Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Lithuania

On April 21, 2017 Vilnius hosted Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Lithuania on consular issues.

The Belarusian delegation was headed by the Head of the Main Consular Department  of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Igor Fissenko, the Lithuanian delegation was led by the Head of the Consular Department, Giedrius Kazakevicius.

The Belarusian delegation also included representatives of the Department of Citizenship and Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Justice.

During the consultations, the participants discussed a wide range of issues of Belarusian-Lithuanian cooperation in the consular sphere, including prospects for conclusion of agreements with the European Union on visa liberalization and readmission,  visa-free entry and movement of foreign citizens in the Republic of Belarus, implementation of Joint Declaration on a Mobility Partnership between the Republic of Belarus and the European Union and its participating Member States, application of the Agreement between the Republic of Belarus and Lithuania on Legal Aid and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Matters of October 20, 1992, as well as other aspects of the bilateral cooperation on consular issues.
