Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus A.Dapkiunas meets the Ambassador of Iran

On June 4, 2018 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Andrei Dapkiunas, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Belarus, Mostafa Oveisi.

The parties discussed the situation that emerged after the decision of the United States of America to withdraw from the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan on the Iranian nuclear programme. The Iranian diplomat expressed Iran's condemnation of the US administration actions and confirmed the country's commitment to the agreement in case the other P5+1 countries continue to implement it. The Belarusian Deputy Minister noted that the Belarusian side supports the further implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and considers its’ preservation, as an important instrument of strengthening regional and global security and stability.

Belarusian and Iranian diplomats also discussed plans and further steps to develop interstate contacts at the highest level, cooperation in the agricultural sector, in particular, the prospects of supplying Belarusian livestock products to Iran, strengthening cooperation in international organizations, and prospects for cooperation in the oil industry.
