Ambassador of Belarus A.Grinkevich meets the Director of the Division for Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania

On January 12, 2017 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Romania, Andrei Grinkevich, met with the Director of the Division for Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Cornel Ionescu.

During the meeting, the sides discussed current state and prospects for development of Belarusian-Romanian cooperation, Belarus-EU dialogue, foundation of Groups of Friendship in Parliaments of Belarus and Romania to intensify inter-parliamentary cooperation, as well as facilitation of a number of joint events dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

The sides paid special attention to the intensification of trade and economic cooperation and stressed that its’ potential is much higher than the current level. In this regard, the parties noted the importance of the activity of the Intergovernmental Belarusian-Romanian commission on economic cooperation (next session to be held in the latter half of 2017 in Romania).
