On September 26, 2016 at the UN Headquarters the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Valentin Rybakov, participated in the general debate of the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

In his statement, V.Rybakov presented the vision of Belarus of a new international order in the context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Deputy Foreign Minister stressed the need to restore peace and stability and overcome the chaos for the successful implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. V.Rybakov noted that the new order must be state-driven, which remain the key players in international politics. Deputy Head of the Foreign service of Belarus stressed that our country will continue to back the idea of a strong state. Belarus also believes that the new order should not be imposed from outside, but must also be inclusive, where all states have a real voice.

Deputy Minister noted the role of the regional integration in the new order and encouraged to establish mechanisms for cooperation among the regional processes in the context of the idea of “integration of integrations”, which Belarus promotes.

Deputy of the Belarusian Foreign Service raised the issue of protection of the institution of the family and proposed to interact jointly on its uniting elements.

V.Rybakov also called on the United Nations to work on promotion of the practical implementation of the new agenda, as well as more coherent work of the United Nations Secretariat with states.
