Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus V.Makei meets the OSCE PA Delegation

On March 16, 2017 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Makei, met with the Delegation of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (PA) headed by the President of the Assembly, Christine Muttonen. The delegation also included the Secretary General of the OSCE PA, his Deputy, and a number of experts.

During the meeting, the sides discussed current state and prospects for development of cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the OSCE, including its’ Parliamentary Assembly. In particular, the modalities of preparation for the 26th Annual session of the OSCE PA to be held for the first time in Minsk in July 2017 have been addressed during the meeting.

V.Makei noted that Belarus considers the OSCE PA as an important venue for a mutually beneficial inter-parliamentary dialogue on developing general approaches to key issues of ensuring stability and security in the OSCE area. Foreign Minister of Belarus confirmed the readiness of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to render all possible assistance in holding the upcoming session of the Assembly in Minsk at a high organizational and substantive level.
