Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus A.Dapkiunas meets the Special Envoy for EXPO 2025 Osaka candidature promotion

On October 9, 2018 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Andrei Dapkiunas, met with the Deputy Director General, 2025 Japan World Expo Committee Secretariat, Special Envoy for EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai candidature promotion, Masaki Iwakura.
Charge d’Affaires of Japan in Belarus, Hiroki Tokunaga, also took part in the meeting.
During the meeting, the features of the exhibition concept proposed by Osaka and the Kansai Region were presented and discussed.
The sides noted the experience of Japan in hosting world exhibitions: since 1970, Japan hosted five EXPO exhibitions, the last one was held in 2005 in Aichi Prefecture.
In conclusion, the sides discussed the state and prospects for development of Belarus-Japan relations, the contribution of world exhibitions to its’ promotion, as well as possible new areas of cooperation between the two countries.
